Helping you through life's transitions since 1993, with care and compassion.
Laura's passion for serving the elderly began early in life, with special relationships with her grandparents. She quickly developed a caring concern for helping seniors, and a deep respect for their life's journeys. Her professional background started in 1989 when she graduated from Wofford College, in Spartanburg, SC. Her first "real" job, was as a Geriatric Patient Manager for Carolina Eye Hospital in Raleigh, NC, where she helped care for seniors recovering from cataract surgery. From that point on, she knew that she had found her purpose.
Laura's career helping seniors has spanned almost 3 decades, and she is held in the highest of regards as a trusted and knowledgeable professional in the field. She considers it an honor and a privilege to be helping families through these sometimes difficult, aging transitions. Besides her many years of expertise in helping seniors, she is also a certified Aging Life Care Advanced Professional®, a Care Manager Certified® by the National Academy of Certified Care Managers and a Certified Senior Advisor® since 2013. She has recently been appointed by her peers, to serve on the Community Advisory Council of The Charles House. Laura also volunteers with Aging Well Durham (formerly the Durham Partnership for Seniors), Rise Against Hunger (RISE), and Meals On Wheels. She is an active member of the NC Coalition on Aging, Friends of Residents in Long Term Care, and also serves on the Congressional Care Committee of her church.
